Lady Red Breaks Out in Win Over Guymon

After winning a game by one in overtime at Guymon on January 27, the Liberal Lady Redskins left no doubt in the rematch with Guymon Tuesday night in the Big House.  LHS routed the Lady Tigers 63-35.  Liberal shot 54 percent in the win.

The Lady Red built a lead of 18-6 and 21-8 after one quarter.  Liberal led 28-12 with four minutes to play in the first half.  Liberal led 33-20 at halftime.  Liberal built third quarter leads of 39-20, 43-22, 45-23, and 50-25 before leading 52-27 after three.  Liberal briefly led 63-33 to cause a running clock for the last couple of minutes of play.

Liberal was 4-11 from three and 7-8 at the foul line while Guymon shot 28 percent and 3-14 from three with an 8-16 night at the foul line.  LHS forced Guymon into 20 turnovers.

Liberal was balanced as Hailey Contreras and Rylie Hallman scored 13 a piece.  Shamari Lewis had 12 while Hallie West scored 11.  Keyona Hall added nine.

Liberal wins their 14th in a row against Guymon with a seventh straight home win against the Lady Tigers.  Liberal is 13-2 and Guymon is 11-9.  Liberal plays at Hays Friday night at 6pm with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3.  Guymon hosts Hooker Saturday for senior night.
