After putting together a huge 16 point, 14 rebound game
Friday night in Seward County’s 67-66 win over previously undefeated
Northeastern and hitting a game winning shot with 1.5 seconds remaining
on the clock Saturday night in the Lady Saints 58-56 win over
Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, Seward freshman Ashlynn Knoll has been named
the KJCCC Player of the Week. Knoll led Seward to the 2-0 sweep of the
Pepsi Classic by averaging 12 points and 12.5 rebounds per game in the
pair of wins. Her 14 rebounds against the Plainswomen Friday were a
career high and following that up with the 11 rebound performance
against NEO marked the first time this season that she recorded double
digit rebounds in back to back games. As the Lady Saints hit the break
at 9-3 against one of the most difficult schedules in the country thus
far, Knoll currently leads the team in rebounding at 6.8 per game and is
3rd on the club in scoring at 9.4 per game.
