On August the 12th and 13th, Officers from the Kansas Highway Patrol and the Seward County Sheriffs Office will be cooperating in an effort to locate intoxicated drivers. Checkpoints operated by officers of these departments may be set up at random locations in Seward County. Drivers suspected of intoxication will be stopped and given a field sobriety test. Confirmed impaired drivers will be arrested. Efforts will be made not to interrupt traffic flow; citizen’s patience and cooperation will assist this important effort. The goal of the program is to increase motorist safety
