Gov. Sam Brownback will lead a summit meeting next month at Emporia State University on the future of transportation in Kansas.
The Sept. 5 event is sponsored by the state Department of Transportation and the Kansas Turnpike Authority, which oversees the maintenance and operation of the state’s only toll road. Brownback and Transportation Secretary Mike King will act as hosts.
Officials describe the summit as an opportunity for business, community and government leaders to help chart a course for growth and prosperity. Brownback plans to moderate a panel discussion among transportation industry leaders.
The public is invited to attend. But space is limited, so the Transportation Department is asking people to register on its website by Aug. 15.
