Kapaun Closes Out Liberal’s Season

Kapaun handed Liberal’s soccer team a season ending defeat in Wichita Thursday night. The Crusaders outlasted the Redskins 2-1 in overtime at Wichita Heights. Kapaun scored first take the early momentum. But Liberal countered when Pedro Lara scored at the 10 minute mark of the first half to tie the game. The score remained 1-1 until Kapaun (14-4) ended the game in the first five minutes of overtime. Liberal finishes 11-7 after they had made 10 of the past 11 final fours.
