Kansas Sampler Festival Takes A Look At Liberal

Marci Penner, Co-founder of the Kansas Sampler Festival, along with several members of the Sampler’s Board of Directors came to Liberal Wednesday afternoon to meet with and ask questions of community leaders about the possibility of the Kansas Sampler Festival being held in Liberal. The meeting took place at 1:00pm Wednesday at the Randall Girls’s Scout Building, with several local community leaders present, Marci and the board asked several questions of the City, County, business, and media representatives present. The questions dealt with promotion of the event, volunteers to assist in putting on the event, facilities, why the event should be in Liberal, and what does Liberal have to offer to make the Sampler successful. After the meeting The Sampler Festival board toured Light Park and the community. The meeting was very upbeat and positive. Liberal is one of three finalists to host the 2012 and 2013 Festival. The Kansas Sampler Board will travel to the other two finalists, Abilene and Wamego tomorrow. Penner told the Liberal contingency the board would make their decision by Friday.
