Jerry McReynolds was named president of the National Association of Wheat Growers, a Washington-based trade group, at the group’s meeting Saturday in Anaheim, Calif. McReynolds had been vice president of the group during the past year.
The job will require him to fly often from his farm in Rooks County to Washington, D.C., where he’ll lobby for wheat farmers.
McReynolds says his priorities include biotechnology use in wheat growth, preparing for the 2012 farm bill and the possible impact of climate change legislation.
