The Kansas Department of Transportation expects a road sealing project on K-144 in Haskell and Gray counties to begin on Monday, August 22. The project runs from the US-83/US-160/K-144 junction in Haskell County to the US-56/K-144 junction in Gray County, a distance of 16 miles.

During daylight hours traffic will be reduced to one lane through the work zone, guided by a pilot car. Drivers can expect delays of less than 15 minutes. The Kansas DOT reminds drivers to be alert, obey all work zone warning signs, slow down and be prepared to stop.

Blevins Asphalt Construction Company, Inc., of Mount Vernon, Missouri, is the contractor for this 376 thousand dollar project. KDOT expects work to be completed by the end of August, weather permitting.

This preservation project is part of the T-WORKS program passed by the Kansas Legislature in 2010.
