Joe Campos is Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week

Liberal senior sweeper Joe Campos is the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week. The guy they call "little Joe" has anchored the Redskin defense which has paved the way for a five game winning streak by shutting out three of the last four opponents (Hays, Hays again, and Andover Central). The Redskins have allowed just one goal the past four games. Campos is the lone returning starter from last year’s defense when the Skins went 16-2-3 and finished runner up at state. The 7-5 Redskins face 9-2 #2 Kapuan Thursday at 5:15 in the semifinals of the Wichita North Cup. The Crusaders are ranked number one in the Southwest Regional in 5A while the Skins are number three in the regional.
