Now the next step. The Liberal Bee Jays are 6-0 after a 12-4 win over the Colorado Lynx Monday night at Brent Gould Field. The BJ’s open the Jayhawk League season Tuesday night against the Dodge City A’s at 7 p.m. on Talkradio 1270 and kscbnews.net. The Bee Jays haven’t won the league since 1999 but have won the league more than anyone.
Monday, Campbellsville right hander Rusty Devitt (2-0) pitched seven strong innings for the win. He struck out 10 and walked one allowing three hits. He balked home the only run he allowed.
As usual his teammates piled up more than enough offense. The Jays have scored double digits in five of their six games. San Diego’s Reyn Nagamine launched a home run over the right field wall and drove home three runs. Northwood’s Eddie Arroyo, Yavapai’s Dean Friedberg, Texas-San Antonio’s Riley Good, and Angelo State’s Toby Semler had two hits a piece. Arroyo drove home three runs and Good had two RBI’s.
