Jayhawk League Adds League Games for 2016

2015 Jayhawk League meeting highlights

Same 8 teams.

No league divisions. Round robin schedule.

42 game league schedule with the split seasons. First half season winner/second half season winner. Each team plays every other team 3 games home and away.

League games start June 7 and ends July 27. Anticipate NBC starts on July 29.

First half winner plays second half winner at end of season in a 3 game series for Jayhawk League Championship. If the same teams wins both, plays team with next best record in Championship series.

28 man roster rule eliminated for Jayhawk League (would still be the NBC’s rule). Teams may carry as many players as they need. Team rosters are frozen at conclusion of the season for the Championship game, with exception of players drafted solely from within Jayhawk League.

At the conclusion of the season, teams not playing at the NBC will send names of players to commisioner who are interested in being drafted by NBC teams. Commissioner will send out the list. Teams will choose players and send choices back to league. Commissioner will assign the players and teams will follow up with the player. Players will be told that if they want on the draft list, they must be willing to play for any of the qualifying NBC teams.

Consensus on the need for a uniform league stats system, to be determined.

Discussion of a league All-Star game, no consensus either way. Still a possibility.
