Jared Hasik is Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week

Liberal junior baseball player Jared Hasik the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week. The LHS shortstop and pitcher has helped the third ranked Redskins to a 15-2 record going into a game Friday at 4 against sixth ranked Dodge City at the National Beef Family Sports Complex. Hasik is hitting .354 with 16 RBI’s, eight doubles, one triple, at .500 on base percentage, a .562 slugging percentage, and 19 runs. On the mound Hasik stepped up to help the Redskins win maybe their most critical game of the year. After a game one loss to Garden City Friday, Hasik pitched the distance in a 9-1 game two win. He is 5-0 with a save on the mound with a miniscule .29 ERA with 24 strikeouts. Hasik was also the LHS quarterback in football and is a member of the National Honor Society.
