Ivan Moreno is Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week

Liberal senior power lifter Ivan Moreno is this week’s Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week.  Moreno reached the milestone of 1,000 pounds at the Meade meet on Saturday.  He was the overall winner at the Leoti meet on February 3 taking first in the overall power-ratio for the men’s division.  That’s the total divided by Ivan’s body weight of 173 pounds.  He also won the Meade meet in his weight division while achieving two PR’s.  His squat was 470 pounds and his clean was 255 pounds.  His bench at Larned was 280 pounds.  Moreno was a second team all WAC linebacker for the Angry Red defense in football.  He is in the track program and will throw javelin and compete in sprints.  He also has about a 3.8 GPA.
