International Pancake Day Committee Announce World Record Attempt

On Monday, November 27th, the International Pancake Day Committee in Liberal announced it will attempt to set a Guinness World Record in honor of 75 years of friendly competition. The International Pancake Day Committee of Liberal will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest line of pancakes. The Committee will be spelling out, “75th International Pancake Day” in pancakes. The current world record recognized by the Guinness Organization is 429ft and is held by Kenwood LTD. It was set on Shrove Tuesday, February 25th, 2020, in London England. Kenwood LTD. broke the 1st record of 363ft set in Sydney Australia in February 2018. the Liberal KS attempt will take place at the Seward County Activity Center as part of the 2024 festivities. All pancakes used in the world record attempt will be distributed to local food pantries in Liberal.
In 1975 Liberal honored 25 years of International Pancake Day Races with Olney England by creating the worlds Largest Pancake. Past Chairmen of the Pancake Day festivities and former Baby Cakes winners are invited back to the celebration to help celebrate the 75 years of Pancakes.
