An injury accident occurred overnight early Monday at approximately 12:40 am near the intersection of 2nd Street Road and Western Avenue. A 2009 Yamaha motorcycle being driven by Austin Cox, 28, of Wichita was Eastbound on Seward County Road 3 when he failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and struck a curb. The motorcycle landed on Western Avenue, rolling an unknown number of times and coming to rest facing South.
Cox was taken to Southwest Medical Center to be treated for suspected Serious injuries. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
