A Texas County man was injured in a two-vehicle wreck at noon Sunday on US Highway 54 west of Guymon. According to OHP reports, 69-year-old Mickey Ray Roberts of Guymon received head injuries when his eastbound 1996 Chevrolet was struck on the back bumper by a 2003 Toyota driven by 27-year-old Nicholas Murray of Gladstone, Michigan, who was not injured. This caused the Chevrolet to spin, coming to rest in the center median, while the Toyota came to a controlled stop in the outside lane of US Highway 54.
Roberts was taken to Memorial Hospital of Texas County, where he was admitted in stable condition with head injuries.
The accident occurred 5 miles south and 3.8 miles west of Guymon. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The cause of the accident was listed as inattention or distraction outside of vehicle.
The accident was investigated by Trooper Grant Arnold of the Guymon Detachment, assisted by Texas County Sheriff’s Office and Guymon EMS.
