One year after winning the state basketball championship, the Hugoton Eagles are the state runner up in 4A in 2024. That’s after a rematch of the 2023 game saw the McPherson Bullpups take the state title over the Eagles 65-59 in overtime. Hugoton led by 11 with 3:38 to play in regulation. The Eagles had a tough night at the foul line going 17-35. HHS finishes 22-3.
