Hugoton Hands Liberal Another Loss

Liberal’s young hitters are trying to find their way. After one hit against Hugoton Tuesday in Liberal, the Skins mustered just three hits Thursday in Hugoton in a 10-2 Hugoton win. Ross Davis went the distance striking out six. Michael Baeza, Nick Frederick, and Reid Davis had two hits a piece for the 2-0 Eagles.
Hugoton got off to a strong start scoring five in the first. Liberal’s Brandyn Terrazas hit a two run homer to make it 5-2 in the fourth. But the Eagles added two in the fourth and three in the sixth.
Liberal’s Edwin Pineda held Hugoton in check out of the bullpen going three and one-third innings without allowing an earned run. The Liberal pitching staff struggled with control again walking eight and Liberal committed two errors.
Liberal plays at Ulysses Tuesday at 4 p.m.
