Some highways remain closed in southwest Kansas due to heavy snowfall. Crews are out working to move stranded vehicles to clear the highways. We urge motorists to stay home if possible; road conditions are still snow-packed and icy and motorists continue to get stranded.
K-23 remains closed south of Meade to the Oklahoma line.
K-25 remains closed north of Ulysses through Lakin to Leoti.
Portions of US 54 and US 160 in Meade and Seward Counties are described by www.kandrive.gov as partially covered with ice.
US 83 in Seward County is described as partially covered with slush. In Haskell County, US 83 is partially covered with mixed snow ice or slush.
K-190 in Seward and Haskell Counties is completely covered with ice.
Other area highways are partially covered with ice or slush.
Crews are prioritizing major routes for snow removal. Currently, there is no estimated time when all highways will reopen.
KDOT reminds motorists not to drive on closed highways and to stay home if possible.
