High Winds Causing Serious Problems: UPDATE

UPDATE:

High winds in Western Kansas have caused serious problems.

Dust kicked up by the wind lead to near-blackout conditions on several highways leading to accidents Monday.

Highway K-27, and U.S. Highway 83 from the U.S. 83/U.S. 83 Business junction south of Garden City to the junction of U.S. 83, U.S. 160 and K 144 in Haskell County were closed due to multiple accidents. I-70 from Goodland to the Colorado was shut down as well due to low visibility. K-96 in Greeley County was also closed.

All roads and highways have now been reopened.

U.S. Highway 27 was shut down from Johnson City to Syracuse after multiple accidents were reported. It was briefly reopened, but has since been shut down.

U.S. Highway 83 from the U.S. 83/U.S. 83 Business junction south of Garden City to the junction of U.S. 83, U.S. 160 and K 144 in Haskell County is closed due to multiple accidents. I-70 from Goodland to the Colorado border has been shut down as well due to low visibility. K-96 in Greeley County has also been shut down.
