Fierce winds have battered parts of western
and central Oklahoma, but officials haven’t received any reports of
damage.
The National Weather Service says a 61-mph wind gust was
measured about 10:15 a.m. Saturday near Boise City in Cimarron
County in the western Oklahoma Panhandle. In central Oklahoma, a
59-mph wind gust was reported southwest of Minco in Grady County.
Forecasters placed Cimarron County under a high wind warning
because wind gusts approaching 60 mph could cause property damage.
The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management and the Cimarron
County sheriff’s office said no damage had been reported.
