Liberal’s baseball team rounded out their regular season Tuesday with two losses at Hays. The Indians (14-4) won 8-2 and 9-0.

In game one, it was a 3-2 game until the Indians broke it open in the sixth. Liberal scored two in the first to actually take the lead. Collin Ware was solid on the mound allowing one earned run and six hits. But LHS had three errors as the Indians also out-hit the Skins 11-7.

Hays pitcher Logan Downing tossed a no hitter at the Redskins in game two. Hays scored three in the fourth and five in the fifth to break it open. Starting pitcher Stevie Lira was competitive through four and one-third innngs.

Liberal finishes the regular season 9-11 after going 2-19 last year. LHS finishes 2-6 in the WAC.

Liberal plays in Wichita or Andover for regionals early next week. Details will be announced by KSHSAA Saturday morning.
