Hayleen Martinez Wins 2nd Straight State Title

Liberal’s boys and girls wrestling teams competed at 6A state at Overland Park on Saturday.  Hayleen Martinez wins her second straight state championship.  She pinned an Olathe North wrestler in the finals in 48 seconds Saturday.  Liberal’s other placers include: Aileen Figueroa (235) 3rd, Isabela Gutierrez (110) 4th, Genesis Orrantia (105) 5th, Keirsie Carlile (100) 6th, Evelyn Sandoval (155) 6th.  For the boys, Julian Orrantia at 120 pounds placed 5th.  Here are the complete results from KSHSAA.
