Hailey Contreras is Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week

Liberal senior point guard is this week’s Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week.  Contreras is Liberal’s all time leader in made three pointers with 131.  She made 33 her freshman year, 44 as a sophomore, 33 as a junior, and 21 this  season.  She leads 5-3 Liberal in scoring at 18 per game and assists at four per game.  She averages three rebounds per game.  She has scored in double digits in all eight games this year.  She scored 24 against Hugoton.  She also plays volleyball and soccer.  She was a second team all WAC soccer player as a junior.  She has committed to play basketball at Tabor next year.  She and the 5-3 Lady Redskins host Dodge City Friday night at 6pm with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
