The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) was called to a one-vehicle crash Wednesday on SH-136 in Hansford County.
At around 8:05 a.m., Izek Chaparro, 18, of Guymon, Oklahoma, was driving a 2006 Jaguar car north on SH-136, about four miles south of Morse.
DPS said Chaparro veered off to the east of the roadway into a culvert, causing the vehicle to go airborne.
They said the car flipped and landed upside down.
Chaparro was air-lifted to the hospital in Amarillo where he later died from his injuries. He was wearing his seat belt.
It is unknown what caused Chaparro to veer off of the roadway.
