Green Leads Liberal Over Great Bend

Deladris Green scored 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 60-57 win over Great Bend in the Big House Friday night. Great Bend made 8-16 three pointers and wouldn’t go away quietly despite LHS leading by as many as 14 in the third quarter. Liberal made 50 percent of their shots in the win. LHS was 14-24 at the foul line and Great Brnd was 6-9.

The Redskins bolted to leads of 11-0 and 13-2. It was 15-9 at the quarter and LHS led 32-23 at halftime. The Skins led 39-25 in the third before the Panthers started raining in triples to make it 45-42 LHS after three. Great Bend shaved the lead to 50-48 before a clutch three point play by Green made it 53-48. Great Bend maded a it a two point game at 56-54 but Liberal took care of the ball and made enough free throws down the stretch to hold off Great Bend which made a three at the buzzer.

Green equaled his career high with 26 and Kylan Thomas had 11. Liberal has won eight of the last nine over Great Bend.

Liberal is 10-4 and 3-1 in the WAC while Great Bend is 3-11 and 1-3. Liberal plays at Guymon Tuesday night at 8 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
