Great Bend Routs Shorthanded Redskins

Great Bend is good anyway.  The Panthers strutted into the Big House Friday ranked 10th in 5A.  But the compound the challenge, several of Liberal’s upper class men quit the team or missed practices during the holidays.  Some are out due to injuries while others were irresponsible.  So LHS started three freshmen, a sophomore, and a junior.  A dunk show ensued as the Panthers had 11 dunks in an 89-42 win.

Great Bend led 25-12 after one and 75-33 after three.  A running clock was used in the fourth quarter.  Liberal shot 33 percent from the field and went 5-22 from three point range.  James Fieser was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  Juan Diego scored 11 in the loss.

Great Bend wins their seventh straight over LHS.  Great Bend is 6-1 and 1-0 in the WAC powered by Ian Premer’s 30 points including eight dunks.  Liberal is 2-5 and 0-2 in the WAC.  Liberal plays at Woodward Tuesday night at 8pm on 1270 and 92.3.
