Great Bend Ends Liberal’s Soccer Season

Great Bend ended Liberal’s season Tuesday night at Redskin Field.  The Panthers shocked the Redskins 2-1 in the first round of the 5A playoffs.  The Panthers led 1-0 at the half and led 2-0 early in the second half.  Mike Fonseca got the Redskins on the board at the 29:25 mark.  But Liberal could not score the tying goal despite multiple opportunities.  The Redskins defeated the Panthers 5-2 September 1 in Great Bend and 4-1 October 17 at Redskin Field but the third time was a charm for Great Bend who is 9-7-1 and plays at Kapaun Thursday.  LHS finishes 10-7.
