Great Bend Blanks Liberal in WAC Opener

Great Bend beat the Liberal soccer team 1-0 in the home and WAC opener at the Cornelsen Sports Complex Thursday evening. The goal was scored when 19 minutes were left on the first half by Michael Prieto of GBHS.

Great Bend swept the season series last year but LHS won the playoff game at Great Bend.

Liberal is 2-2 and 0-1 in the WAC.

Next week looms large for the Redskins with a game Tuesday at Garden City and Thursday at Dodge City.
