Golf Course Uses Fake Dogs To Deter Geese

These dogs don’t bite — or bark, either. But don’t tell that to the geese.

A Maryland golf course has some phony Fidos to scare away the pesky birds. Groundskeepers at the Elk’s Lodge club in Salisbury have placed silhouettes of dogs around the nine-hole course.

The cutouts are designed to pivot in the wind to make them look more realistic.

Course manager David Reichenberg says it’s working. He says he wasn’t a believer until he saw it with his own eyes.
