A Garden City man has been formally charged in the death of a Colby woman earlier this month.

Monday, 24-year-old William Andrew Shank was formally charged with first-degree murder, aggravated arson and aggravated burglary.

The body of 27-year-old Teri L. Morris was found inside her burning home on February 9th. She was transported to a local hospital where she died a short time later.

Agents with the Kansas Bureau of Investigation took Shank into custody in Logan County later that day. He’s currently being held at the Thomas County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Shank is scheduled to make a first court appearance Tuesday morning.
