Free throws were the main difference in another tough loss to Dodge City. Three weeks after a 54-52 loss in the Big House, Liberal fell at the Dodge City Fieldhouse 46-40 Friday night. This was a 41-40 DC lead with :39 seconds to play. Liberal had their chances, especially at the foul line where LHS was 13-25 while the Red Demons were 18-24.

The Red Demons bolted to a 6-0 lead and led 12-8 after a quarter. It was 35-30 Demons after three. LHS took a 38-37 lead with 2:35 tp play. They continued to execute pretty well down the stretch but just couldn’t make enough free throws.

Liberal shot 35 percent from the field while Dodge City made 36 percent. Dodge outrebounded LHS 29-22.

The Redskins finish the regular season 6-14 overall and 1-7 in the WAC. Dodge is 9-11 and finishes 5-3 in the WAC.

The Redskins play at 15-5 Maize South Wednesday night at 6 on 1270.
