February Marks Black History Month with Several Local Events Scheduled

The Black History Committee invites the public to their Fashion and Talent Show on Sunday February 4th. The event will take place at 3:00 pm at the Rapid Fit Showcase Theater at Seward County Community College. If you would like to be an entrant, Contact Kathleen Alonso at 620-482-6138.

Black History month’s Tastefest will be held on Sunday February 11th.The Tastefest is open and free to everyone and will take place at 3:00pm at the Liberal Senior Citizens Center, 701 N. Grant Street.

Tickets are available for the Rosa Parks Scholarship Banquet which will be held on Saturday, February 17th at 6:00pm at SCCC/ATS in room 229 upstairs in the Student Union. Formal attire suggested. Tickets can be purchased by calling Christine Hammond at 620-482-6138.

The final Black History Committee’s Event for 2024 is the Gospel Song Festival set for Sunday February 25th at 3:00pm at the Bibleway Church Of God In Christ at 410 E. 8th Street in Liberal.

All of these events are open to the public.
