Fatal Beaver County Accident Claims Wichita Man

A fatal accident at 12:20am Sunday morning has claimed the life of a Wichita man. The accident occurred 3 miles east of Gate, OK in Beaver County.

A 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Benny Joe Slobko, 59 of Wichita, was eastbound on US-270 when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the Tahoe to depart the roadway to the right. The vehicle then struck a delineator and a ditch, causing the Tahoe to roll approximately 5 times before coming to rest on its wheels. The driver was pinned for approximately 2 hours before being extricated by the use of Hurst tools by Laverne Fire Department. Slobko was pronounced dead at the scene due to whole body injuries.
