Eyler’s Homer Not Enough in Dodge City

The Liberal Rattlers swung up to Demon Field in Dodge City to play two Tuesday night.  Due to approaching inclement weather, the two teams decided to play one nine inning game.  Dodge City won the game 4-3 with three runs in the ninth.

The Rattlers scored single runs in the third and fourth to lead 2-0.  Dodge scored a run in the sixth.  Liberal added insurance with a run in the ninth to lead 3-1.  But Dodge City scored three in the bottom of the ninth for the walk off win.

Zane Eyler hit a home run in the loss.  Aiden Schwindt had two hits.  Cesar Gomez pitched four scoreless innings.  Adrian Favila pitched two  innings allowing one run.  Oscar Rubio went two scoreless innings on the mound.

The Rattlers and Dodge City had seven hits a piece but Liberal had four errors compared to Dodge City’s two errors.

The Rattlers will take a 16U team to Hap Dumont State at Westurban in Wichita on Friday.
