Emporia Edges Liberal in First Round of Titan Classic

Emporia edged Liberal 2-1 in the first round of the Wichita South Titan Classic Monday evening. This was a scoreless game at the half. The Spartans scored at the 32:10 mark to take the lead. Liberal freshman Alondra Alvarado scored on a goal from the top of the 18 assisted by Wendy Vela to tie the game at the 29:03 mark. Emporia scored again at teh 8:05 mark. LHS had four shots on goal. Sophomore goalie Reyna Gonzalez had five saves. LHS is 1-3 and plays Wichita Southeast Wednesday at 4 in the Wichita South Titan Classic.
