The Elk City Elkettes built a 16-2 lead and never looked back in beating the Liberal Lady Redskins 59-38 Saturday afternoon at Boomer Fieldhouse in Woodward.  It was Liberal’s first game in Woodward’s Winter Classic.

Elk City bolted out 16-2 as Liberal again struggled with ball handling and defense.  The Elkettes led 24-6 and 27-8 before leading 31-13 at the half.  It was 48-28 after three.

Liberal committed 22 turnovers in the loss after a 26 turnover game against Hays.  Elk City only had seven turnovers.  Elk City was 8-22 from three point range and Liberal was 2-13 from three.

Shamari Lewis was Epic Touch Player of the Game scoring 14.  Kamilah Delgado added eight.

Elk City is 3-0 and Liberal is 2-2.  Liberal plays Woodward Saturday at 3:20 in Woodward on 1270 and 92.3.
