The great grandson of the 34th President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower will be coming to Liberal. Merrill Eisenhower Atwater, the Aviation Director with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will be in Liberal Thursday April 13th. Atwater will be speaking to the students of Eisenhower Middle School Thursday morning at 8:00am. He will then be a guest of the Liberal Chamber of Commerce for an event at the Rock Island Depot, from 11:45am – 1:00pm. Atwater’s presentation will cover Aviation in Kansas and Drones. He will also be sharing stories of his Great Grandfather. There will also be a question and answer period as well. Refreshments will be served.
