Drowning Ruled Accidental

On July 11, 2010 the Liberal Police Department was called to investigate the drowning death of Giovanni Ramirez at Adventure Bay Water Park.

The investigation of the scene was conducted over several days, including photographs, videos and sketch diagrams of the area. The investigators identified and interviewed witnesses including Giovanni ??s family, water park staff and patrons at the park that day. Attending medical personnel were also identified and interviewed.

On July 12, an autopsy was performed. This is a common practice for unexplained deaths or deaths involving unusual circumstances. The coroner attributed the cause of death to accidental drowning.

The case was sent to the County Attorney for review. This is a standard practice of the Liberal Police Department. The purpose of this review is to determine whether there is any evidence of criminal wrongdoing.

The investigation has concluded that the death of Giovanni Ramirez was accidental.
