Dr. Knudsen Reaches a Monumental Milestone: Over 22,000 Babies Delivered

Liberal, Kansas – The community of Liberal, Kansas is celebrating an extraordinary achievement by one of its most dedicated and beloved healthcare professionals, Dr. Dennis Knudsen. As of July 2024, Dr. Knudsen has delivered over 22,000 babies, a number that surpasses the population of Liberal itself.

Dr. Knudsen’s journey in Liberal began in 1982, when a nurse from a clinic in Wichita suggested he consider working with Dr. Norvan Harris in Liberal, Kansas. Initially visiting to cover Dr. Harris’ practice, Dr. Knudsen found a profound connection to the community and decided to make Liberal his home. Since 1983, he has practiced at the same location on 15th Street that Dr. Harris originally built.

Despite opportunities to relocate, Dr. Knudsen chose to remain in Liberal, feeling a deep sense of duty and connection to the people he serves. His dedication has made him a cornerstone of the community’s healthcare system.

In September 2024, Dr. Knudsen will take on a new role as an employee of the Southwest Medical Center. However, his office will remain at the same familiar location, ensuring continuity of care for his patients. This transition marks a new chapter in Dr. Knudsen’s illustrious career, further solidifying his commitment to serving the community.
