A Dodge City landmark is a little banged up after a hit and run accident.

A minivan crashed into El Capitan a little after midnight Friday morning.

The impact knocked the statue off its pedestal.

According to the Dodge City Daily Globe, the driver fled the scene, but was captured a few hours later.

The statue suffered a broken horn and tail and a fractured ankle.
