Dodge City handed Liberal what was their worst loss in the modern era and most likely their most lobsided loss ever. The Red Demons built a 41-0 lead at the half and won 69-0 Friday night in front of a big crowd at Dodge City Memorial Stadium. The game was played with a running clock in the fourth quarter. The Red Demons amassed 640 yards of offense. Liberal gained 141 yards, 61 of which came on the final play of the game. Liberal’s highlight was a Cade Hinkle interception of a Walters pass in the second half as he was being pressured by Sylman Pando. LHS senior quarterback Jared Hasik played the first half and the first series of the second half before sophomore Tyrique Chandler came in to play QB. Liberal’s Tyler Martinez rushed for 87 yards. Dodge City’s Caden Walters passed for four touchdowns and rushed for four more. Dodge City is 2-2 and 1-0 in the WAC while LHS is 1-3 and 0-2. LHS hosts 4-0 Garden City for homecoming Friday night at 7 at the Gary Cornelsen Sports Complex. Redskin Pre-game begins at 6 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
