The Derby Twins beat the Liberal Bee Jays 8-4 Thursday evening at Panther Field in Derby.  This was a non league game against the Sunflower League’s Derby Twins.

The Twins scored three in the first.  The Bee Jays scored two in the third.  Derby added single runs in the fourth, fifth, and seventh.  Liberal scored two in the eighth to make it 6-4.  Derby scored two in the bottom of the eighth to make it 8-4.

Liberal out hit Derby 8-7.  Ryan Proctor was 3-4.  Matt Harris pitched 4 and 2/3 allowing five runs.  Matt Floyd went 1 and 1/3 scoreless.  Kyle Duffey went one inning and allowed a run and Corbin Bailey went one inning allowing two runs.

Liberal loses two straight for the first time this year and is 17-4 overall.  They host the Park City Rangers for a Kansas Collegiate League series Friday night at 7 at Brent Gould Field.  Southwest Roofing is the buyout sponsor.
