Candidates for the Board of Education in Texas County school districts file Declarations of Candidacy beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, December 2 .

Danie Williams , Secretary of the Texas County Election Board, said the filing period ends at 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 4 .

The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled February 11 , 2014 . If no candidate receives more than 50% of the total votes cast in this election, the two candidates receiving the highest number of votes will meet in an election on Tuesday, April 1 , 2014 .

Offices for which Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted at the County Election Board office include the following:

Hardesty School District—Office No. 2 & 4

Hooker School District—–Office No. 4

Goodwell School Distict—-Office No. 4

Guymon School District—–Office No. 4

Straight School District—Office No. 2

Texhoma School District—-Office No. 4

Optima School District—–Office No. 2

Tyrone School District—–Office No. 4

Yarbrough School District–Office No. 3 & 4
