Texas County officials confirmed nine positive COVID-19 tests on Saturday, May 30. The results were for five Guymon residents, two Hooker residents, one Hardesty resident, and one Optima resident. County officials confirmed Texas County’s COVID-19 count is now at 920 total cases. Residents are asked to continue to wear a face covering and maintain proper social distancing to continue to flatten the local curve.

Texas County is third in the state for total confirmed cases behind Tulsa County, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Oklahoma Emergency Management is reporting Texas County at 917 confirmed COVID-19 cases with nine new cases today.

Not all agencies report data in the same 24-hour period, and officials recognize the occasional variance of numbers in reporting. For more data on confirmed COVID-19 cases visit the state’s website www.coronavirus.health.ok.gov. OSDH is not reporting hospitalizations or employers for our county COVID-19 cases.

An investigation into any positive result is standard and persons in close contact with the person will be notified by the Oklahoma State Department of Health and advised of quarantine and testing procedure. For test result information contact the physician’s office or clinic in which you were tested.
