Coffeyville Ends Seward’s Season

The Coffeyville Lady Ravens defeated the Seward Lady Saints 61-50 Tuesday night at Nellis Hall in Coffeyville.  Before the game, SCCC head coach Will Marchino said the fist team to 60 would win.  Unfortunately for the “Gals in Green,” he was correct.

Seward got off to a slow start as Coffeyville claimed a 15-6 lead after one quarter.  The Lady Ravens led 18-8 before the Lady Saints forced turnovers, scored in transition, and went on a 15-2 run to take a 23-20 lead.  But Coffeyville’s 8-0 run would give them a 28-23 lead at the half.  The Lady Saints struggled on offense in the second half going 7-28 for 25 percent.  CCC led 44-35 after three.  Seward cut the lead to 56-50 with 2:15 to play.  But Seward missed their next three free throws.

Seward had another rough offensive night shooting 30 percent and 2-16 from three point range.  The Lady Saints were 12-15 at the foul line.  Coffeyville shot 40 percent with a 5-16 output from three point range.  Coffeyville was 18-22 from the foul line.  Coffeyville out-rebounded SCCC 46-27.  Seward forced 21 Raven turnovers and only turned the ball over 10 times.

Allie Myers was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 10 points, eight rebound, and four steals.  Ari Gordon added 10.  Chloe Burnham had nine.

Coffeyville is 25-5 and Seward finishes 20-12.
