Forgan’s players will have bragging rights for the rest of their lives. They will be able to say with conviction they can play with and even defeat the top big schools in Oklahoma. Friday the Bulldogs shocked the second ranked team in 5A Bishop McGuiness 52-48 to bring home third place from the Tulsa Tournament of Champions.

Ryan Radcliff scored 23 including the clinching free throw with 6.8 seconds left. Jake Regier added 11. He hit a three to break a tie and give Forgan a 47-44 lead with 1:40 remaining.

It was the best finish by a Class B team at the Tulsa Tourament of Champions since 1991 when Hammon took third. Last year Forgan played Muskogee to a three point game (55-52). They beat 4A Vinita 79-67 Wednesday and were competitive with top ranked 6A Tulsa Union in a 60-47 loss Thursday.

The Bulldogs are 10-1 and McGuiness is 5-2.
