City Of Liberal 2025 Budget Reflect Mil Decrease of Near 4 mils

The Liberal City Commission met on Tuesday evening and started by proclaiming October 6–12, 2024, as Fire Prevention Week throughout Liberal.

After a presentation and a Public Hearing, the commission adopted Ordinance No. 4619, establishing a Rural Housing Incentive District within the City and Adopting a Development Plan for Housing and Public Facilities in the District for the Larry and Hickory Street Development.

The Commission adopted the Budget for 2025 which reflects a decrease in the Mill Levy of 3.815. Budgeted amounts are $61,694,205 and an Ad Valorum of $6,932,800.

Commissioners appointed Caroline Johnson to the Liberal Housing Board for a four-year term starting in October 2024, and appointed Kathleen Alonso to the unexpired term of Renae Hickert on the Liberal Memorial Library Board, to be completed in July 2025.
