In an Emergency Proclamation issued Wednesday morning, the City of Guymon has banned the firing, igniting, or exploding of any fireworks in the City of Guymon. This decision comes shortly after the Texas County Board of County Commissioners determined that extreme fire danger exists in Texas County and issued a County-Wide burn ban.

This prohibition does not apply to any public display of fireworks that is conducted under the supervision of the Police or Fire Department of the City of Guymon. Anyone who is caught in violation of this order is subject to be fined.
