The Liberal City Commission met Monday evening in a Special Meeting with Waterpark Pool painting on the agenda.

The Commission had previously approved slide renovation and pool painting at Adventure Bay Family Waterpark. Due to extenuating circumstances, the contractor originally approved by the Commission informed the City that they would only be able to complete the slides. The City sought revised quotes from the other two companies who had originally submitted quotes for the painting. The City only received one response. Utility Maintenance Contractors reduced ther original quote to $85,467 down from $89,763. However due to the decorative stone border, an additional $7,874 would be added to the quote.

The Commission voted to accept the quote of $93,341 from Utility Maintenance Contractors. They will use non-skid surfaces and will have all work done to open the Waterpark on time, Memorial Weekend.
